Self Sabotage And The Gremlin

Another thing I have realised is that I have been sabotaging myself.

Every time I start to notice a difference something happens and the gym routine gets disrupted.

It's like part of me (I call it the gremlin) says I'll fail and then is determined to prove itself right. It sounds crazy, but it's true and it's not unheard of. It stems from the subconscious mind's view of the world and how it tries to make life conform to this view despite what the concious mind is trying to do.

Many people who have tried to lose weight will be familiar with this too - just as they are starting to make progress and people start to notice something happens and it all falls apart.

Of course, there are real people who are gremlins too. People who will discourage you from improving yourself because they are more comfortable with you as you are - often for not very pleasant reasons.
